Specialist counselling and assessment for women considering fertility preservation
Whether you’re freezing your eggs for medical reasons, or simply because you’re not ready to decide about children yet, you deserve a specialist who gives it to you straight, not just reassurance that it’ll all work out.
Our Egg Freezing & Fertility Preservation service starts with honest counselling about your ovarian reserve and realistic expected egg yield, so you can make this decision with real information, on your own timeline.
This is your decision, and our role is to give you honest information to make it — never to pressure you either way.
Your ovaries are stimulated with medication over roughly two weeks, monitored closely by ultrasound and blood tests, before mature eggs are collected under sedation. Eggs are then frozen quickly using vitrification, a fast-freezing technique that helps protect egg quality, and stored for future use. Before any of this begins, we talk through your ovarian reserve, expected egg yield and the realistic likelihood those eggs could contribute to a future pregnancy, so your expectations are grounded from the outset.
Egg yield and the likelihood of a future live birth depend heavily on your age and ovarian reserve at the time of freezing, and we won’t oversell your odds. Our counselling is designed to give you a genuinely realistic picture, so that whenever you come back to use your eggs, you’re doing so with expectations that were honest from day one.

This depends on your age and ovarian reserve, which we assess before you decide — there’s no single number that applies to everyone, and we’ll give you a realistic estimate specific to you.
Egg collection is done under sedation, so you shouldn’t feel the procedure itself; some mild cramping or bloating afterwards is common and usually settles within a few days.
UK storage limits have changed in recent years and now allow for longer storage in many circumstances — your consultant will confirm the current rules and what applies to you.
Egg freezing preserves unfertilised eggs, useful if you don’t yet have a partner or don’t want to use donor sperm; embryo freezing fertilises eggs first, which requires sperm at the time of freezing.
Earlier generally means a higher egg yield and better long-term potential, since fertility declines with age, but the right time for you is a personal decision, and we’ll give you honest information whenever you come to us.
